I chose this topic for a few reasons.  The reason is, many of us are in competitive areas.  Moving the needle is very difficult. I wanted to create a process that delivers.  What better way to do this. By choosing an area that I am very low in authority on and get this item to rank.  Their are other reasons we will get into later

My goal is not only to rank this article but to give some sound advice. Since most advice given is only from the sellers perspective.

Next we want to look at our top competitors for this area.  I type in “Personal Injury Lawyer Colorado”   Notice Top # are ads.

Looking at the Justia page.  as you can see “Personal Injury Lawyer Colorado” has a density between 2% and 4%.

Looking at this information our article needs to have a density of 4% containing “Personal Injury”  and at least 3% density for Lawyer, Claim, and Colorado”  

Knowing this it would be safe to assume that a users search intent is to find a Personal Injury Lawyer in Colorado because they are interested in filing a Claim.  We will get into more of that later

Now we know our competitors words and density.   We want to research the SEO difficulty. 

More often than not you will usually look at the difficulty first then find easy areas to gain traffic.  But for this aim I want to show that when you have to just dive into a difficult area.  It can be done. 

So to look at our SEO difficulty we are going to use ubersuggest by Neil Patel. 

looking at our target keywords “Personal Injury Lawyer Colorado” we see this is a highly competitive term. The Cost Per Click is high with very low SEO difficulty. Knowing these keywords have Minimal Search Volume is going to make this challenging.  Also the backlinks are very high but we will talk about that later

This may seem like it is a great area but the what makes this difficult is the search volume is less than the pages providing this information.

What this means is It is going to be harder to rank since there are more people offering services than there are people looking.

There is a Brighter side also. here are some keyword variations that we can use to also add more search volume to our article.

Notice as I said earlier I chose these words for a reason.  Look at the Amazing CPC (cost per click) also look at the SEO difficulty.  This Means if done right we should be able to create some content that can rank in this area.

The main content is selling their services and a little about the definition of injury.

But, throughout your keyword research, you find variations like “Best Personal Injury Lawyer,” “Personal Injury Lawyer in Colorado Springs,” and “Personal Injury Attorney”.

By looking at these different ways your customer may be searching for your content, you can increase your presence exponentially. Each variation carries with it more search volume.

It would be a good idea add these term inside our content.  That is why we have created a list of Keywords and found their search volume. 

Just by me making these adjustments based on market shifts in audience search behavior, we are now more likely to be found since we are targeting deeper keywords.

SEO is about research. The more research the better content you can deliver.  Your goal is to provide the most extensive content covering our users needs. This is what drives traffic. 

Now that we have a better understanding of the users intent. We know it will be to find a lawyer. Either for themselves or a loved one has incurred an injury. We Know our searcher wants a lawyer who will get the job done and get them the most. This will be our article’s topic.

Now we can approach content like some champs.  We have a good understanding of our Audience, Target Keywords, Difficulty and Competition.  The next thing is to create great content.  

Content is KING.  One thing all SEO guru’s and Marketing agencies will all agree on is.  Content is King.  Getting great content found can be difficult but once great content is found.  The sky is the limit. 

Not all content is created equal. There’s bad content, and good  content. In general, if you manually write your content, you will not seem as spammy. If you have not written content or not an expert in that area.  You can always find talent to create your content.  If you choose to go at it alone research your topic heavily.

As we created our content we made sure to cover all the things people think about when looking for an Injury Lawyer. 

We covered question the law office would ask. So our readers are ahead of the curve.  That is good content. 

5. The Tech side of SEO

This part of the SEO is making sure that all the research we did gets implemented.  We want Google and the user to be able to see words that are in mind when looking for our keyword.

Site speed. Indexing, Tight coding, Meta Descriptions, etc.

Technical SEO is another beast to tame itself.

When  the technical side of SEO is out of whack, your entire website is out of whack. Here are a few examples.

Say that you have created a website that has everything right, you don’t have enough internal links.

Or, you have very large images taking up loading time.

Or, your site pages are not indexed.

These mistakes can make a big difference.  Especially if this stops you from ranking #2 and your rank is #11.  That is a Ton of traffic. 

Eventually your site will get larger and more difficult to manage.  Starting off correctly is a huge part in having an easier site to maintain.  Your focus should be to make each page great.

6. Connect it all together with Links

Links, Links, Links.  It doesn’t matter where on the list this one is at. It always has to be worked.  Just like the rest of this list.  These are not one and done items. 

Links is going to play a major role. Not because Links are just need for the algorithm.  But a quality link will bring traffic.  Bottom line that is the goal for links. 

A good SEO plan will not only get you a good link.  But it will get you a link that drive targeted traffic.  Too many SEO companies focus on the authority of a link.  What would you rather have a link from a DA-80 that drive no traffic.  Or a DA-45 link that bring 2,000 people a month.

There are many theories on healthy link building.  For true healthy link building you would never ask for a link.  People would link to you just because you have great content. This maybe true if you are already on the first page and have great content.  

The key to a good link profile is to just keep building.  Find like content and build a relationship with that site. Find people who are interested in what your talking about.
