Ingredients

For the sauce:

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 garlic clove, minced

⅛ cup low-sodium soy sauce

⅛ teaspoon red pepper flakes

½ teaspoon fresh ginger root, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

⅛ cup dark brown sugar

For the stir fry:

1 cup broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets

¼ teaspoon kosher salt

½ cup carrots, thinly sliced

500g flat iron steak, thinly sliced

½ cup red onion, thinly sliced

1¼ cups snow peas

½ tablespoon olive oil

½ tablespoon cornstarch

⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

2 cups cooked rice

Directions for Beef Stir Fry With Vegetables

Step 1

Add the ingredients for the sauce to a bowl and mix to combine. In another bowl, mix together cornstarch, pepper, and salt. Toss the beef with the cornstarch mixture.

Step 2

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over high heat. Gently tilt and swirl the saucepan to coat the sides. Add in the beef and cook for about 4-5 minutes stirring from time to time until tender. Take out the beef from the saucepan and put it on a plate.

Step 3

Return the pan to the stovetop and stir in onions and carrots, stir-fry on high heat for about 1-2 minutes. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for at least 2 minutes.

Step 4

Stir the sauce mixture, then add it to the saucepan with veggies. Add the snow peas and beef; cook until the peas are soft and the sauce thickens for extra 2 minutes.

Step 5

Enjoy served with cooked white rice.
