I am a huge fan of Mexican foods. I simply cannot go a week without eating a Mexican delight. Today we are going to talk a little about the Best Tacos Mexican Food Aurora. UMMM.. yes. Tacos, The famous U-shaped shell crammed with all our favorite things from beef, steak, cheeses, sauces, and cool veggies.

The plan: Simple.. Find as many small dives in Aurora and put them to the test and see if they are the best. Focus only on the food, the tacos. I will pick what sounds best to me at the time and find out who has what is takes to be on this list.
Only my top choices out of the journey will be listed; but I will be updating as I find new and better places. Here I wont be judging price just pure goodness.
The Reason: I get tired of reading the local news and magazine reviews with these exaggerated everything on the planet is great reviews. I recently looked at the top 3 reviews online for the Best Mexican Food in Aurora co.
What I found was the worst way to give an example of Mexican restaurant reviews. All they did was take a picture and give us the address. Really? That is the best we can do CBS4, Westword, etc. I Felt hoodwinked, so if you want something done right.. Well you know the saying.

In my quest to find where the Best Mexican Food in Aurora co, I found myself arriving at Las Tortugas near where I225 and Parker cross. I didn’t plan this out but in my haste of hungry I ended up going the furthest from my place. While Las Tortugas may be close to you it just wasn’t for me on this day. When I got there I was ready for a taco but i didn’t see any on the menu. This was a Mexican sandwich shop, so my whole quest for the best taco has now turned to the Best Mexican Food in Aurora co. uggh bad planning on my-behalf.
As I browsed the menu I stumbled upon and found this item called Guera. The Guera was a chicken, cheese and avocado melt,. As I waited for my food I sat and occasionally glanced at the food being prepared. Just a small amount of time has passed and my food was brought out in a basket on paper. (The usual).
One thing I can tell you is that I sure did enjoy the food. The Sandwich had more bread than i would have liked but the flavor definitely made u for it. The mix of the seasoning and the tender chicken breast was enough for me to have Las Tortugas on this list

The next stop is Tacos El Metate. Can they make the Best Tacos & Mexican Food Aurora? This dive is in the area of chamber and mexico. When I arrived I immediately notice that space is inviting for its location.
I enjoyed the chalkboard display of their menu very simple and right to the point. Of course this time is a perfect time to order me some street tacos. I definitely wasn’t the only person ordering these tacos it seemed like every-other order was for these tacos. This made me feel really good about what I am about to be served up.
Once my order was placed it wasn’t long at all to receive my food, but street tacos are not really an item that takes much to prepare.
I Ordered 4 tacos two chicken and two carne asada tacos with onions, (extra onions, don’t judge me) cilantro and some limes. One thing that I can say before even taking my first bite is that they did serve a good portion of meat in these tacos.. Yesss!

I have notices that many places when ordering street tacos they tend to be a little on the skimpy side. I guess they figure since the are smaller and cheaper that they don’t have to give you much. But Tacos El Matate did me right.
First I started with the Carne Asada and I must say they were jammed packed with flavor. You know when you take a bite and have to keep your head over the plate to stop from all the things falling out.
Before I even got to the chicken I instantly thought about having a beer. So I knew then this is one to make the list. I then moved to the chicken this one also was good not as much flavor as I would liked.
Maybe it could be because i was really happy and content with the Carne. This was a successful trip and i would recommend to anyone if you are in the area to stop in if you have the chance. Next time I think I’m going to try the fries.

On this day I journeyed to Tacos Chihuas. I’m not sure what made me want to this place. Maybe it was the name itself or maybe it was just because I had a partied all night and woke up and this was the closets place. This spot in Brighton.. I know this is about the Best Mexican Food in Aurora co, but this is a must!
Look I know this is all about Aurora but this one is worth the mention. Promise we will be back in Aurora on the next one. Once I got there I thought on my past success of and decided that maybe I will go for the Street Tacos again. The menu is textbook dive with random pictures scattered about so I felt I was in the right place.
It was a nice day so I decided to eat out on the patio and enjoy the view of the mountains. I figured that I wanted something different since we have slightly deviated form the original plan of only tacos.
I ordered some Smothered Fries with Chicharrones. For those that done know chicharrones are homemade pork skins and when they are smothered they become soft and bring some crunch to your plate.
I can’t remember how long the ordered really took because I was to busy in my phone watching videos on Facebook. When my order did show I can say I was not that impressed.
I go to these little dives for the only reason of them knowing how we like it. I expected my fries to be drenched, truly smothered with sauce leaving no fry untouched and jam packed with cheese and chicharrones.
That is not what I saw, although it was an ok amount of sauce some cheese and a decent amount of skins. enough about looks, lets talk about the reason why we are here. Is this good? Yes. oh boy. It was the sauce they were smothered in was nice and spicy.
The kind you need to have in the afternoon after a long night out on the time. As The fries soaked up the flavor and become more and more soft it started becoming the smothered fries we all expect. You know, the kid you have to eat with a fork. All said and done I finished the food left some fries since they were not covered as I expected.
I would for sure go back; although next time I would make sure to ask for some extra cheese and smothered some more. I guess wanting more is not a totally bad thing so after considering that I want more this place had to be added

We traveled to Torchy’s Taco’s in hope to find the Best Mexican Food in Aurora.
I am pretty excited to talk about this one. Today I traveled to Northfield by I70 and Quebec. What I found was a place called, Torchy’s Tacos. This place really does not look like the Dives that would be on this list but hey let’s be flexible.
When I walked in my eyes were immediately drawn to there slogan highlighted on the wall. It says “Damn Good” and with that as a motto I was ready to put them up to the test.
At first I felt like this may be a franchise attempt at the local around the corner walk-in spots. In my search for the best Mexican Food in Aurora I had to see if they can make this list.
The place has good space and seating for sure it didn’t have the vibe of the momNpop shop that has grandma in the back whipping up some horchata. Now if you have not had any yet please try it. Horchata is a Mexican drink that has many ingredients but it main base is milk.
This drink reminds me of the milk that is at the bottom of your favorite cereal growing up. I’m sure we all remember having that last bite and drinking the sweet milk that is left over making us wish we had more. OK, back to the real reason we are here.
Right off top I could tell that this is the place to get a street taco. Why you ask? I looked around and that is all everyone was eating and I mean everyone! So this gave me great hope that I have found the place that will not only be on this list but I may consider to be BEST.

Rather than go that far I need to order. Next I ordered 4 street tacos and of course as you would know by now I ordered my favorite. I got two chicken and two carne asada. As I waited I just didn’t get that down home feel it was very commercial but it was a pleasant atmosphere.
Alright, now is the time to put my money where my mouth is. They came fresh and hot and loaded. This was not a commercial attempt to give uppity environment and high-priced skimpy servings.
Cheese was piled to the top and the meats were over flowing; although they were not drenched in sauce as I would like you could add you own types of flavor to them. Time for the First bite.
Success, the flavor of each were absolutely what I needed for the day. Finally the amount gave me more than enough of what I was craving and enough to keep me full thru the day. Overall Torchy’s Tacos is a place that I will be visiting again very soon. Good job Torchy!
