What is the purpose of a coffee table?

Your coffee table there to make your room more comfortable. It’s designed to free up your hands while your there. Also it doubles as an added decoration to that area. It can hold decorative books, plants and other items you may want to show off.

What does your coffee table say about you?

Your coffee table says a lot about you, like how much time do you spend at that area. Do you spend a lot of time watching tv and snacking? Do you work or use your computer on the table? Maybe it’s an area where you spend time on your hobbies, such as video games, puzzles or read.

What ever it is the things you leave behind say a whole bunch. People can immediately make pretty accurate assumptions about how you spend your time.

While there is nothing wrong with your company seeing how you spend you time and what activities you do. You can leave a lasting impression and here are some ways you can communicate your lifestyle without having to say a word.

Now here are some styles to help with understanding your lifestyle expression.

Ways to organize your coffee table

The first thing you want to do is remove everything and clean. Starting with a clean slate will help decide what is most important to you.

From this point, don’t just put everything back on the table, instead think of how do you want to spend your time at your coffee table.

This is your opportunity to really express yourself and make practical use of the space.

If you are looking for ideas to add to your coffee table while your organizing I have a quick read article here for you.

1. Minimal

With this style you have only the bare necessities and your saying that you have a specific need for that area. It doesn’t matter what need it is, more so that it’s minimal.

Maybe only two maybe three functions. This give off a vibe that I do spend time in this area, but its not where I spend most of my day.

2. Empty

Now, if you feel this is more you then your saying it don’t need this room and I have plenty of other things to do. This is definitely for either an extreme neat freak or someone who is very busy.

Keeping an empty table is not the easiest thing to do, since you’ll need to clean it after every use. Even if it’s to put your feet up after a few times it need to be wiped down.

In all, I do like this look as it can show that you have an active life outside of your home. But, I’m in favor of the minimalists.

3. Organized confusion

Ok, if this is more your speed, then you probably have already put everything back on the table and started watching tv.

This right here says you probably sleep on your couch and play games all night. This is more like your kitchen table, work and entertainment area all in one.

When you have company your more likely removing things from the table just to make your company comfortable.

With these three styles here is what’s recommended to organize your coffee table.

clean living room to show organization

If your want your coffee table empty, then your done. Just note that you will need to put some thought into what your doing when your there.

You’ll need to stay focused and build a good habit of taking everything with you the moment you leave that area. The moment you don’t you have shifted to a minimalist.

If your going with minimalist, then choose ahead of time what you going to do when your at your table. Pick three activities and stick to it.

The key is to limit the activities you do in that room and have a place for everything and leave it there.

Maybe watch tv, play games and take naps might be your thee things. If so, then your going to be eating somewhere else; because once you add a few more things your organized confusion.

So if your organized confusion and your still reading this you have a few things to do. First thing is remove as much as you can. Like, putting the remotes near the tv or always leave them on the arm of the couch.

Do as much as you can to not need your coffee table. Find a way to make things a multipurpose item, like using the candle lid as a coaster too.

You could also use decorative dishes that can also be snack bowls or containers.

Then at this point you will need to practice not using the room for everything. You can try Sleeping in your bedroom or watch tv on your phone at the kitchen table for example.

Since we know we are being judged by our living space, I hope this little bit helps you get some things in order.
