The Real Reason why Candle Warmers are Costing you Money!

Ahh… Electric Candle Warmers, since I first noticed them I have always kept a few around. Its nice to just flick on the light and your candle at the same time, but there are a few things that I had noticed that I didn’t like about my warmers. I’m going to share a few and why I’ve have went back to my roots, to replace them with wick candles.

Here are some ways that you can use Candles and Candle Warmers to decorate you coffee Table.

The Candle Warmers initial cost

This one is easy, its the upfront money its going to take you just to get the candle warmer home. First off its a mechanical item, even though relatively simple components, its more labor intensive to make and will cost up to 5X’s more than just a simple candle.

Not only that, once you get ready to purchase that cute electric candle warmer, you’ll need to buy some scents for it. Now here is the other expense, as you can use oils or wax, each pack is going to cost.

A good thing is that you can get different smell, but now you have a junk drawer full of candle scents just taking up so much space. Ok, lets say you got past that part.

Candle Warmers operating cost

Now here is the cost that we tend to overlook the most, your electric bill, oh yes every month after month your paying for that candle warmer. Plus the sneaky thing is, you bill isn’t itemized to say hey this extra $20+ a month add is coming from that cute little candle warmer in the corner.

You are essentially buying more candles on top of buying more candle scents. So when you get home and that fresh smell hits you when you walk in, well.. you paid for that. The whole time just chipping away at your paycheck ever so slightly.

Oh and if you have multiple ones as I do and many other people, well you can just double those costs.

Candle Warmers maintenance cost

Ok, so hear me out on this one, because there is a maintenance cost to having these warmers all over your home, and its your time. Yes, the time it takes to scrape these things out to replace new scents, or heaven forbid the clean up time if you spill them.

I always wondered why they just have the wax or oil just sitting there, on top unprotected just asking for someone like me to bump into it.

The Alternative

But there is always the tried and true alternative, yup you guessed it, the candle. As much as I like my candle warmers, I also like candles. Candles not only give off that relaxing and romantic feel with the flame just dancing around in your home, but it also doesn’t take any more of my money when I use them.

Buying regular candles is a one and done deal, I don’t have to pay any more money out of my pocket for them. Yea it does require for me to have a lighter, but what would you rather have near you when your soaking in the tub trying to get the rejuvenating vibe going; definitely not something that needs electricity.

Nope, I already drop my phone in the water too much for me to be playing around with those electric candle warmers.

I went ahead highlighted some candles that i really enjoy and they burn well too. Some of these you may already know and some you may not, but in any case enjoy.
